The forensic sciences have gained tremendous popularity in the last several years. Television shows such as CSI, The New Detectives, Cold Case Files, Forensic Files, and other top-rated programs have thrust the forensic sciences into the public consciousness.

The professionals who are rarely depicted in these television shows are the crime laboratory directors and forensic science managers who are ultimately responsible for the integrity of the analytical process, the assurance of quality, and the direction of staff members toward the long-term goals and objectives of the laboratory. These individuals make forensic science possible. They are the unsung heroes of the criminal justice system. This is their home.
